It's Ronnie here! In the UK we're now in the third week of lockdown (I think it's week three – they're all blending a bit together at the moment!) and I hope you are all adjusting to these incredibly difficult times. At least for us hobbyists it finally gives us a chance to start, or finish, those projects we have had on our to-do list for so long, and I hope you're keeping busy with some extra hobby time.
I wanted to email you today to give you an update on the measures we've taken at Mantic to keep you and our staff safe since the COVID-19 outbreak. In line with government advice, we have kept our online portal open to ship any web orders and have reduced the free shipping minimum to £25/€30/$50. I do think playing, painting and planning your next game or army is a fantastic distraction and way to while away a few hours..
I know I have got more hobby and gaming in than I have in many years – and I have just seen my 16-year-old son pick up a paint brush for the first time in four years! And it wasn't because I was making him paint the shed. The team at Mantic, both those working from home, and those who are in the warehouse are doing an incredible job keeping everyone engaged and supported, be it through free rules, new podcasts or getting you some models, games and kits for your hobby time. I thank all the team here for being so fantastic! .
KEEPING STAFF SAFE
Everyone that can work from home has been working from home, many since before the lockdown was officially declared. We've heard reports that some have even got changed out of their pyjamas on a daily basis (but thankfully these are unsubstantiated rumours!)
The warehouse is on a skeleton staff (those necromancers finally came in handy) of just five people working in a 1,600 square metre space – so a lot more than two metres each - and there is zero contact between them as goods are passed from area to area, always maintaining far more than the recommended two metre minimum. We're also giving them Fridays off each week to rest and minimise contact, and we have made sure they don't even have to use public transport to get to work
All deliveries are left in a 'safe zone' so there's no contact with third parties. The safe zone shouldn't be confused with a Deadzone – although Zak, the Warehouse Manager, is a one-man Enforcer army!
KEEPING YOU SAFE
We're going above and beyond guidelines for maintaining safety when picking and packing orders. There's handwash absolutely everywhere and all the team have masks and gloves
Orders are collected at structured set times, so there's no contact between the various courier companies either
KEEPING YOU HOBBYING
We genuinely believe hobbying has a part to play in keeping people entertained and engaged in these strange times, so we have been doing our utmost to keep you entertained and busy over the weeks.
We've been constantly releasing regular free rules, including a solo play campaign for Deadzone, solo rules for The Walking Dead: All Out War and lots more. We're going to keep these regular freebies coming throughout the lockdown, so stay tuned!

Of course, it's an ever-changing situation and we're continuing to monitor government advice. And, of course, please be aware that web orders may take a little longer to ship and arrive because we're on a reduced team.
