Have you gotten your tickets for #G4C2022 yet? Time is running out - regular priced tickets are only available until July 1st! Attend the first-ever hybrid Festival with two days of exclusive in-person sessions, workshops, arcades, built-in networking opportunities, and two days of virtual free content available for streaming on Hopin. Join keynotes from exciting voices in the games and immersive media space, including:

Nolan Bushnell (Entrepreneur, Atari, Chuck E. Cheese, ExoDexa, Moxy)
Leah Hanes (CEO, Two Bit Circus Foundation)
Nolan Bushnell, the godfather of the video game industry will talk with his co-author of his upcoming book THE FUTURE OF EDUCATION, Dr. Leah Hanes about what video game creators know about keeping kids in a state of flow as described by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi in his book called FLOW. They will discuss the positive impact the video game world could have on education. Gamifying what we want students to learn about is the ultimate in meeting students where they want to be met. (Virtual)

Jakki Bailey, Founder Director Immersive Human Development Lab, University of Texas at Austin
In immersive VR, the external world is blocked out and provides rich sensory feedback to make the experience feel "real." How are these experiences and interactions with larger-than-life characters interpreted by developing minds? Join as Dr. Jakki Bailey discusses the effects of immersive VR on young children's cognitive skills and social responses, as well as design implications for VR as it relates to children's lives. (Virtual)
Nanea Reeves (CEO, TRIPP)
TRIPP is a portal into a mindful metaverse that enhances the human experience. Join CEO Nanea Reeves as she takes you through an exclusive, behind-the-curtain look at a purpose-driven team that believes in the use of technology for good, and their committed efforts in helping people find solutions and experiences that drive deeper connections to themselves and the world around them. (In-person)

Ian Bogost (Professor & Director, Founding Partner Washington University in St. Louis, Persuasive Games)
It's been two decades since the launch of the Serious Games Initiative and Games for Change. Ian's studio, Persuasive Games, is now that old, too, and his book of the same title is 15 (edutainment, learning games, political games, and many other fellow travelers are even older). It made him wonder: what was it they were going to change with these games? Did they succeed? In this talk, a 20-year veteran of this space reflects on the unrealized promises of the sector, and what it means for the future. (In-person)

Dein buffed-Newsletter zieht um - komm mit!

Hallo lieber buffed-Fan!

Lukas Schmid
