(Virtual) | | | Jakki Bailey, Founder Director Immersive Human Development Lab, University of Texas at Austin In immersive VR, the external world is blocked out and provides rich sensory feedback to make the experience feel "real." How are these experiences and interactions with larger-than-life characters interpreted by developing minds? (Virtual) | | | Nanea Reeves (CEO, TRIPP) TRIPP is a portal into a mindful metaverse that enhances the human experience. (In-person) | | | Ian Bogost (Professor & Director, Founding Partner Washington University in St. Louis, Persuasive Games) It's been two decades since the launch of the Serious Games Initiative and Games for Change. Ian's studio, Persuasive Games, is now that old, too, and his book of the same title is 15 (edutainment, learning games, political games, and many other fellow travelers are even older). It made him wonder: what was it they were going to change with these games? Did they succeed? In this talk, a 20-year veteran of this space reflects on the unrealized promises of the sector, and what it means for the future. (In-person) | | | Every year, Games for Change relies on the support of community volunteers to help bring the Festival to life. This year we are looking for in-person volunteers to assist with G4C2022. Learn more about how to get involved now. | | | | |
