| Halo: Fleet Battles Carrier Groups now available |
| Covenant Carrier Group. Forum member CoffeeGrunt imagines the Punic will have a slight edge in speed, but will be getting the CAS first as he tends to play Covenant and it has always been a favourite ship of his. | | UNSC Carrier Group. Forum user Dsmize2011 is a UNSC loyalist all the way and loves the design and mean look of the Punic. |
The excitement doesn't stop with the Carrier Groups. Coming early 2016 are the first Halo Heroic Character and Fleet Commander Busts. Take a look at our latest blog for previews of Xytan 'Jar Watinree, the Minister of Etiology and Lord Hood. Keep checking back as the elusive Cortana is coming very soon to your screens.

For those of you yet to paint your Halo: Fleet Battles forces, take a look at this outstanding Covenant fleet painted by the uber-talented Andy Singleton. He's even been kind enough to share his painting techniques in his awesome personal blog.
| A great example of what can be achieved using an airbrush. |
| Andy suggests you spray Vallejo Game Colour Magic Blue anywhere you want to be a large light source, such as engines. You then spray Vallejo Sky Blue into the centre of the large light source, leaving some of the Magic Blue visible. The final touch is Vallejo White at the centre of the large light source, leaving the preceding two stages visible. |
| Using the techniques described in his blog, Andy finished his entire fleet in three evenings. |

| | | | A new way to command your Firestorm Planetfall force Command Helixes are jam-packed full of miniatures for Firestorm Planetfall commanders to add to their armies. Each centres around an imposing command vehicle designed to deliver a force's most brutal infantry into the heat of battle. Grab them while they're hot!
| Terran Alliance Ground Command Helix. From our forum, Sailon thinks the Terrans take the prize for best Ground Command Helix. He really likes the Anti air MLRS turret on the back of the command vehicle. |
| Sorylian Collective Ground Command Helix. Taunting his opponents on the forum, Brimat believes it takes their "hiding in armoured transports is for non-lizards" attitude to a new level. | A Firestorm Planetfall tournament was held last week at The Outpost in Sheffield. Congratulations to Andrew Wells who placed 1st and won the Bloodiest General award. A special mention must also go to Ian Duff whose Terran Alliance force was voted as the Best Painted Army. Final standings and photos from the event can be found by joining the UK Planetfall Community on Facebook.
| The guys from Slayer Gaming in Mansfield made the trip and had a great time. gr1mdan says they are looking forward to attending the next one and will be hosting his own tournament soon. |
The Outpost is a great independent retailer. Zeph explains there is a relatively cheap car park around the corner and it is only a five minute walk from the train station, so its an ideal location for a gaming centre. Find out more by visiting their website and look out as more Spartan Games events are added.

| | | | The Terquai enter the fray in Firestorm Armada The Terquai are one of only a few populations to live under alien governance. With such vast borders to control, they embrace a multi-function strategy for their military. Since October you have been able to pick up a Patrol Fleet, Cruiser Group and Dreadnought Group for this fascinating race, so if you fancy fielding a full Terquai force there's nothing stopping you from doing so.
| Terquai Patrol Fleet - currently 40% OFF as part of our Black Friday sale. From our forum, DanSG-19 thinks the Dreadnought in particular is seriously mean looking. | There are so many enticing battle reports in the Firestorm Armada section of the Spartan Games Community. doubleones recently managed to get in a 1200pt Recover Resource game. He pitted his mixed fleet of Tarakians, Xelocians and Ryushi against the combined might of the Terran Alliance, Hawker Industries and Terquai. Check it out now to see how some of these more unusual alliance races play in Firestorm Armada. They even used all the "reserves" options in the battle, so it's really interesting to see how that changes the way a battle progresses.
| Layout and deployment. Zig jammed his stuff in the corner, whilst doubleones positioned his squadrons to move between asteroids. Tarakian cruisers, Xelocian frigates, a Hawker carrier and Terquai torpedo cruisers were all left in reserve. |
| terror believes the laser effects and explosions make for a really fun visual report. You'll have to read the blog to find out who ended up the victor. | Spartan Alex provides an update on the background of one of the least well known races in Firestorm Armada - the Kedorians. With some of the largest vessels ever to appear in the Firestorm Galaxy at their disposal, this race appears to harbour a dark secret...

| | | | Battle Robots change everything for Dystopian Wars
| What started as an engineering feat to show French relations with the Federated States of America soon took a militaristic turn when the world war erupted. With relations between France and the FSA strained the statue was suddenly re-envisioned as a weapon of war. | | We wanted to create a walking robot for the Russian Coalition that blasted its way towards its enemies, guns blazing and turrets/mortars hurling nightmarish ordnance before using its gigantic steam axe to decapitate anything foolish enough to stand before it. | An interesting topic has cropped up in the Spartan Games Community - how do you run three player games? Quickdraw says deployment should be in the centre of one long table edge and near the corners of the other, like an equilateral triangle. As this means two players are deployed about a foot within the table, advance or flanking forces are not used. Most in the discussion agree scenarios are the best way to go about three player games, but all it takes is one or two house rules for regular games in SillyWabbit99's gaming group to be viable. Tell us about your experiences.
