Dear Supporter, you're invited to take part in the BIG week of action!
Love our Earth? We do too! However, human activities are pushing our planet to its breaking point. We have to change the way we live now.
Fortunately, next week is a big one for anyone wanting to make a difference to our home. Tuesday 24 October is the International Day of Climate Action and Wednesday 25 October is Sustainability Day. So the question is, what will you be doing?
24 Oct: International Day of Climate Action
Melting ice caps, extreme weather, rising sea levels... do we really need more reminders that the time for action on climate change is now? There are many reasons why we must act now and make responsible choices in our daily lives.
While we may not seeing it happening right before our eyes, our actions impact the earth and its incredible biodiversity in many ways. Next Wednesday, take a moment to think about what small changes you can make to your life, that will make a big difference to the planet.
3 simple ways to start living sustainably:
1. Switch to green energy. When shopping for new electrical appliances look for green labels on them. The more demand there is for renewable and recycled products, the faster industries will change.
2. Look for the FSC label on wood and timber products. This ensures the product comes from a responsibly managed forest, which is important as deforestation produces carbon emissions, which fuels climate change.
3. Take public transport whenever possible Taking public transport produces less greenhouse gases, so you'll be doing our planet and everyone who shares it a favour!
