 XR For Change - Talk and Play: Education  Tuesday, December 4th

 
Please join us at our next XR for Change Talk and Play event at Samsung NEXT. On Tuesday, December 4th, the evening will focus on XR as it relates to the education sector, including primary and secondary education.

Come hear different perspectives from the thought leaders on our panel as they share with us the impact immersive technologies are having on informal and formal learning.  Live demos and refreshments will be available before and after the panel to allow for plenty of time for play and networking! 

This event is for educators, developers, parents, researchers, creators, students - come learn about the impact of XR and how it can be used to innovate learning!

Our Speakers
France-Lee Griggs, Program Manager, Google AR & VR

Inspired by Star Trek's Holodeck as a child, she is passionate about augmented & virtual reality technologies and their potential impact on collaboration and learning. She spent the first eight years of her career working in the video game industry which married her love for technology, education, and creativity. Prior to Google, she worked for the Entertainment Software Association, leading intellectual property education and training efforts.
 
Kevin Miklasz, Vice President of Data and Prototyping at BrainPOP

As a trained scientist, he has a PhD in Biology from Stanford University, but has spent his time after gaining a smattering of diverse experiences in education: designing science curriculum, teaching after-school science programs, designing science games, running game jams for kids, and analyzing assessment data. He is currently the Vice President, Data and Prototyping at BrainPOP, where he leads the Data team and run a Rapid Prototyping Lab that tests new product ideas in VR, AR and other directions.
Steve Issacs, Game Design and Development Teacher at William Annie Middle School

He has been part of a large-scale study on the use of VR in schools through foundry10, a Seattle based research foundation. Steve's use of XR in the classroom focuses on providing students with opportunities to create content for XR. Steve is active in the ARVRinEDU community. He is part of the XR4Change Ambassador group and has been presenting on the use of XR in schools at conferences across the country. In addition, Steve is the lead content producer for Minefaire.
David Kleeman, Senior Vice President, Global Trends

Strategist, analyst, author and speaker — for more than a quarter-century, David Kleeman has led the children's media industry in developing sustainable, kid-friendly practices. Kleeman is Senior Vice President of Global Trends for Dubit, a strategy and research consultancy and digital studio based in Leeds, England. For 25 years, he was President of the American Center for Children and Media, a creative professional development center.
