| | | | | Launching today: Game to encourage volunteering at national parks | | We couldn't be prouder to have partnered with American Express through a $250,000 grant to produce Save the Park, now available for free on iOS.
Save the Park is a collaborative endless runner game that aims to inspire players to volunteer and make a difference at the National Park Service's 400 national parks, monuments, and historic sites in all 50 U.S. states.
The game is a complimentary activity to American Express' multi-year $5 million dollar commitment to support the U.S. Department of the Interior. The initiative's goal is to increase community volunteers in national parks and on public lands to one million annually by 2017.
Developed by Schell Games, Save the Park features four characters who accomplish volunteer tasks, allowing players to virtually experience the activities that support parks and the critical caretaking role volunteers play. With multiple prompts to take action and to find volunteer opportunities, we hope to mobilize a new generation of volunteers to preserve and revitalize America's treasured national parks.
The American Express Foundation will also make a $1 donation to the National Park Foundation for each download of Save the Park, up to $50,000. Download the game to unlock your donation today!
