Find out more
If nature was run like a bank account, we'd all expect to be told when there was nothing left to take. 2 August is when we, humanity, get that 'official' warning from the 'Bank of Nature'.
It's called Earth Overshoot Day.

The Earth provides us with vital things like freshwater, food and air — and, up to a certain point, it has an amazing capacity to regenerate. But we can't keep taking and expect the Earth to cope.

Earth Overshoot Day marks the moment when we have taken as much as the planet can sustain in the current calendar year.

Amazing image of wild tiger in Bhutan

Read the story
It's a stunning image—a tiger stares out from its lush forest habitat in the wilds of Bhutan. Finding this tiger was no easy task. The first high-resolution camera trap image of a wild tiger in Bhutan captured at an altitude above 11,000 feet.

Crucial protections for Selous World Heritage site upheld

Last month our World Heritage campaign celebrated a win as the World Heritage Committee upheld most protections for Selous Game Reserve economy and environment.

Over a million people's livelihoods and the Selous' wildlife face a reduced threat, following latest discussions. The World Heritage Committee have requested that Tanzania prepare an environmental assessment for the proposed Stiegler's Gorge dam, and consider other options for power generation.

Thank you to everyone who has shown their support for the campaign already.

Shining a light on the wildlife rangers with Love Nature

29th July was Global Tigers Day and our friends at Love Nature, the 4K wildlife and nature streaming channel, used this day to shine a light on the wildlife rangers around the world who are constantly fighting to protect the tigers and their habitats.

Love Nature's documentary: Rangers on the Frontline tells the story of one such team of rangers who have undergone specialist anti-poacher training which Love Nature funded and WWF organised. This thrilling and exploratory documentary, gives a fascinating glimpse into the day to day lives of Cambodia's Wildlife Crime Rangers, as they work to reintroduce the tigers back to their forest home.

Sign up to Love Nature and watch Rangers on the Frontline this World Ranger Day. Use promo code RANGER to enjoy 30 days free, then 50% off for a whole year.
