Dear Supporter,

As the Arctic sea ice reaches its annual minimum, there is no better time to remind us of the urgent need to take ambitious climate action for our planet, its people and wildlife.

Arctic ice loss: a reminder of climate urgency

Arctic climate change affects us all
The reduction in summer Arctic sea ice is one of the most visible impacts of climate change. It also accelerates warming of the Arctic, which will harm the region's fragile nature and the people who depend on it. Even if the world meets the terms of the Paris Agreement, the Arctic is still expected to warm an additional 3° to 5°C.
While the Arctic might feel like a far and distant place, climate change in the region is a global problem. Changes there are likely to lead to harmful impacts that will affect each and every one of us. Find out more about the polar bear's home and why climate change in the Arctic matters to you.
