Everything You Need to Know for #G4C2022! 🎉

Join the first-ever hybrid G4C Festival! 

The 2022 Games for Change Festival is only a few days away, and we cannot wait to be back in person for the first time in three years! This is the first-ever hybrid Festival with two days of in-person sessions, networking opportunities, panel discussions, and arcades, followed by two days of new virtual content available on Hopin and free to all! Explore the full G4C2022 Schedule! This year, the Games for Change Festival will take place in TWO venues -  The Times Center (242 W 41st St, New York, NY 10036) and the Microsoft Technology Center (11 Times Sq, New York, NY 10036)  in Times Square, NYC. These spaces are right across the street from each other and accessible from several mass transit hubs in the area, including 42 St - Port Authority Bus Terminal and Times Sq - 42 St.  Badges can be picked up starting on July 12th  2:00 - 6:00 PM  at The Times Center. On the days of the Festival, badge pickup will open at 7:30am. To attend sessions at the Microsoft Technology Center, you must obtain a daily elevator pass in addition to your Festival badge. At both locations, you must provide an ID and proof of vaccination. Games for Change maintains the health and safety of our community as a top priority — this includes considerations for all of our event attendees, partners, employees, and volunteers. Masks will be required at all indoor activations, and vaccinations with at least one booster shot (if eligible) will be required to attend. All COVID requirements will be checked at badge pickup. Please familiarize yourself with the event guidelines. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to us at safety@gamesforchange.org. One benefit of returning to NYC is that there will be many opportunities for networking! These activations will allow you to connect with others from the global G4C community. Starting at 5:00 pm each day, experience a collection of interactive games, topic tables, and other unique opportunities.  Meet the Speakers 7/13 and 7/14, 5:00-6:45 pm Join the first-ever 'Meet the Speakers' activation at the Games for Change Festival! Attendees will have the opportunity to mingle with presenters, have informal conversations, and ask any questions they might have! Speed Networking 7/13 and 7/14, 5:00 -5:45 pm and 6:00-6:45 pm Make your next great connection at #G4C2022! Attendees are invited to get to know fellow G4C community members who love games and immersive media for 5-minutes at a time. Continue your conversation on the next day of the Festival or online through social media.   Topic Tables 7/13 and 7/14, 5:00-5:45 pm and 6:00-6:45 pm Join G4C's speakers and experts for small group conversations on today's most relevant topics in games and XR. These Topic Tables are an excellent opportunity to ask questions and get to know leaders in the field in an informal and lively setting. Crooked Poker 7/13 and 7/14, 5:00-5:45 pm and 6:00-6:45 pm Crooked Poker is a cunning card game of wits and deceit. Take on your opponents at the poker table to win the pot. But watch out; everyone in this game is a two-faced fraud who will stop at nothing for the prize. Beat! That! Heat! A Climate Action Game Show 7/13 and 7/14, 5:00-6:45 pm Beat! That! Heat! is an interactive game show where players compete and collaborate as they contribute to climate solutions. Part Jeopardy, part 90s Nickelodeon Double Dare & part mayhem, all in service of cooling down the planet and enjoying ourselves in the process. Terra Thrift 7/13 ONLY, 5:00-5:45 pm Become an eco-friendly shopper! With Terra Thrift, you can increase your environmental awareness of fabric sustainability. Communicate and work with your team to make the best garment selections for your customers. Place-Based Games Networking and Showcase 7/14 ONLY, 5:00-6:45 pm Come see how games connect us more deeply to place, local history, and our neighbors - including outside.
