Registration for the 2022 Games for Change Festival is OPEN! 🎟

The time is here, registration is officially OPEN for the 2022 Games for Change Festival! Join us live in person in NYC at the Times Center and Microsoft for two exclusive days of in-person curated talks, workshops, and arcades with built-in networking opportunities throughout, followed by two days of additional free online content on Hopin! Please note that the Festival dates have shifted to July 13-16 to accommodate an expanded program.

Early bird tickets for the in-person event are on sale until May 18th. Tickets to the virtual portion of this year's festival will be free!

Every year, the Games for Change Festival brings together a diverse mix of games industry leaders, educators, and innovators using games and immersive media for social change. The curated list of events, featured talks, workshops, and networking opportunities are designed to elevate awareness of how gaming technology is being used to transform a growing list of sectors, including health, education, and world affairs. XR Brain Jam application deadline extended until May 15th! Are you a game developer, XR creator, or researcher interested in pushing the boundaries of XR? The XR Brain Jam is a unique event that teams up researchers with XR game developers and digital creatives to explore the intersection of their domains. Join us July 9th-11th in NYC for a weekend of innovative, collaborative XR prototyping. The works created at the jam will be presented at #G4C2022. Apply Now!

📢 Last Call for G4C Student Challenge Submissions!

The 2022 Student Challenge competition closes this Friday! 

Students can submit their original social impact games by April 15th for a chance to win the ULTIMATE prize 🏆 - a $10,000 scholarship, generously provided by Take-Two Interactive.

Students in grades 5-12 in the United States can submit their digital games and works of creative writing. All winners will receive cool prizes such as games, tech, swag, and more! Take a look at our Award Categories page for a full list of winning categories and info about our specialty awards.

Submit Your Game in 5 Easy Steps:

  1. Go to the competition portal: bit.ly/G4C-Competition

  2. Log in or create an account

  3. Click "My Submissions" on the left-hand toolbar to start a new submission form

  4. Answer all questions in parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the form

  5. Click "Save and Finalize" to officially enter your game into the competition

All competitors will be notified of their standing in the competition in May. Finalists will be invited to our culminating virtual Awards Ceremony in June, where winners will be announced live. We look forward to seeing what students create this year!

Calling all middle school gamers! G4C and Connected Learning Lab are excited to share our next youth workshop series - a Game Design Workshop presented by Raising Good Gamers! Students across the U.S. will come together for six virtual sessions to participate in hands-on activities to promote a positive and inclusive online gaming culture while learning game design skills to create their own games. Participants will also have the opportunity to win awesome prizes!
