SAY NO TO A PLASTIC DIET

Eight million tonnes of plastic are dumped in our oceans each year, threatening both people and wildlife. The plastic crisis is so severe that people could now be ingesting around 5 grams of plastic every week on average - that's the weight of a credit card! Join us and say no to a plastic diet.

HOW DO WE SOLVE THIS?

While saying ‘no’ to straws and bringing along a reusable bag are great first steps, which you absolutely must do, it’s governments and business who need to solve this. At WWF, we launched a campaign against ocean plastic pollution earlier this year, with over 850,000 people already signing our petition calling for action by the world’s governments. We want governments across the world to sign a global legally-binding treaty to improve how we use and dispose of plastics and businesses play an important role here too.

Some good news: In a major step forward in the fight against marine plastic pollution, Nordic governments have become the first in the world to formally call for a global treaty to tackle the plastic crisis in our oceans.
